How to use the Discount Calculator
- Enter the original price.
- Enter the discount percentage.
- If there's an extra discount on top, enter it too.
- Read the sale price, the amount saved and the true total discount.
What does this tool do?
Stores often advertise “30% off, plus an extra 20%”. That isn't 50% off: the second discount applies to the already-reduced price, so the real total is 44%. This calculator applies discounts in order and shows the true figure.
Why use it?
- Shows the real total discount on stacked deals.
- Works in any currency.
- Quick enough to use in a shop on your phone.
Example: stacked discounts
A $120 jacket is 25% off, with an extra 10% at checkout. After 25%: $90. After the extra 10%: $81. You save $39, a total discount of 32.5% — not 35%.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the original price from a sale price?
Divide by (1 − discount). A $60 item that's 25% off was originally $60 ÷ 0.75 = $80.
