How to use the Test Grade Calculator

  1. Choose “questions wrong” or “points scored”.
  2. Enter the totals.
  3. Read the percentage and letter grade, or use the chart to grade a whole class.

What does this tool do?

Teachers often grade by counting wrong answers. With 40 questions, each is worth 2.5%, so 6 wrong is 85%. The grading chart lists the score for every possible number of wrong answers, like a classic EZ grader.

Letter grades use a common US scale (A at 93%, A− at 90% and so on). Your school's cut-offs may differ.

Why use it?

  • Grading chart for the whole test.
  • Works with points or question counts.
  • Letter grade included.
