How to use the Hreflang Tag Generator

  1. Add each language or regional version with its URL.
  2. Set an x-default fallback.
  3. Paste the tags into the <head> of every version.

What does this tool do?

Hreflang tells Google that pages are translations or regional variants of each other, so a French searcher sees your French page. Each version must list every other version and itself, and the links must be reciprocal.

Why use it?

  • Avoid the wrong language ranking.
  • Prevent regional pages competing as duplicates.
  • Catch invalid codes.

Codes

Language only: en, de, fr. Language and region: en-GB, en-US, pt-BR. Use x-default for a language selector or global fallback page.
