What does this tool do?
Code 128 encodes letters and numbers and suits internal labels and shipping. EAN-13 and UPC-A are the retail product codes scanned at checkouts; their last digit is a check digit, calculated automatically if you leave it out.

Choosing a type
Internal use: Code 128. Retail in most countries: EAN-13. Retail in the US and Canada: UPC-A. Shipping cartons: ITF-14.
Accuracy and limits
- To sell in stores, product numbers must come from GS1. Making the image here doesn't register a number.
