How to use the Basic Calculator
- Tap the buttons or type on your keyboard.
- The answer previews as you type. Press = or Enter to confirm it.
- Tap any line in History to reuse that calculation.
- Press C or Esc to start again.
What does this tool do?
This is an everyday calculator for adding up receipts, checking a bill or doing quick sums at work. It follows the normal order of operations, so 2 + 3 × 4 is 14, not 20.
Results are shown without the tiny rounding errors computers sometimes produce, so 0.1 + 0.2 shows as 0.3.
Why use it?
- Bigger and clearer than most phone calculators.
- Shows your full expression, so you can spot typing mistakes.
- Keeps a history you can reuse.
Example
To add three items with 8% sales tax, type (12.50 + 7.25 + 3.99) × 1.08 and press Enter. The answer is 25.6392, or about $25.64.
Accuracy and limits
- The % key divides the number before it by 100, so 50% becomes 0.5. For “add 10% to a price” questions, use the Percentage Increase Calculator.
Privacy
The calculation happens instantly in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or saved. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
