How to use the Pixels to Print Size Converter
- Choose pixels → print size or the reverse.
- Enter the image size and the print resolution in DPI.
- Read the print size and the table for other resolutions.
What does this tool do?
Print size is simply pixels divided by dots per inch. A 4000 × 3000 photo prints at 13.3 × 10 inches at 300 DPI — the standard for sharp photo prints viewed up close.
Posters and banners viewed from a distance look fine at 150 DPI or lower, so the same image can print much larger.
Why use it?
- Both directions.
- Inches, centimetres and millimetres.
- Quality guide by DPI.
The formula
print size (in) = pixels ÷ DPI
pixels = print size (in) × DPI
