How to use the Screenshot Annotator

  1. Paste a screenshot with Ctrl/Cmd+V, or choose an image.
  2. Pick a tool and drag on the image: arrow, box, highlight or blur. Click to place text or numbered steps.
  3. Undo as needed, then download the annotated PNG.

What does this tool do?

Ideal for bug reports, how-to guides and support replies. Numbered step markers count up automatically, and the blur tool pixelates a region so email addresses, names and passwords can't be read.

Pixelation here replaces the pixels in the exported image — the original detail is not hidden underneath and can't be recovered from the file. Your images are processed on your own device and never uploaded.

Why use it?

  • Paste straight from the clipboard.
  • Pixelate private details.
  • Auto-numbered steps.
