What does this tool do?
For the UK it applies the 2026/27 income tax bands for England, Wales and Northern Ireland — the £12,570 personal allowance (tapered above £100,000), 20%, 40% and 45% rates — plus employee National Insurance at 8% and 2%.
For the US it applies the 2026 federal brackets for a single filer with the standard deduction, plus Social Security (6.2% up to the wage base) and Medicare (1.45%, plus 0.9% over $200,000). State taxes aren't included.
