How to use the Frequency Calculator

  1. Choose period or wave speed and wavelength.
  2. Pick what to solve for.
  3. Enter the values and read the frequency.

What does this tool do?

Frequency is how many cycles happen each second, measured in hertz. It's the reciprocal of the period: something that repeats every 0.02 s has a frequency of 50 Hz — the mains frequency in much of the world.

Angular frequency ω = 2πf is used in oscillations and AC circuits.

Why use it?

  • Two frequency formulas.
  • Angular frequency included.
  • Solve for any variable.

The formula

f = 1 ÷ T
f = v ÷ λ
ω = 2πf
