JPG, HEIC, PNG, WebP or TIFF · read on your device, never uploaded

Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory.

How to use the Image Metadata (EXIF) Viewer

  1. Choose a photo.
  2. Check whether it contains a GPS location.
  3. Browse the camera, settings and date details.

What does this tool do?

Phones and cameras store details inside each photo: the camera model, exposure settings, date and often the exact GPS location. Sharing the original file shares this data too.

Why use it?

  • Check a photo before sharing it.
  • Find when and where a picture was taken.
  • Learn the camera settings behind a great shot.

Where metadata disappears

Most social networks strip EXIF when you upload, but email attachments, cloud links and messaging “send as file” options usually keep it.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, which is why it works even on a slow connection.

Why don't I see any data?

Screenshots, edited images and photos downloaded from social media usually have their metadata removed.
