How to use the Power Calculator
- Choose the formula that matches what you know.
- Pick what to solve for.
- Enter the values and read the power.
What does this tool do?
Power is the rate of doing work or using energy, measured in watts (joules per second). Lifting a load quickly takes more power than lifting it slowly, even though the work is the same.
In circuits, P = V × I — a 230 V appliance drawing 5 A uses 1,150 W. For moving objects, P = F × v.
Why use it?
- Mechanical and electrical formulas.
- Horsepower conversion.
- Solve for any variable.
The formula
P = W ÷ t
P = V × I
P = F × v
Accuracy and limits
- Values are in SI units (shown next to each field). Convert other units first, or use our unit converters.
