How to use the Volume Changer & Normalizer

  1. Choose an audio file.
  2. Pick louder/quieter, normalize peak, or match loudness, and set the level.
  3. Check the peak and clipping readout, preview and download.

What does this tool do?

Normalizing brings the loudest moment up to just below the maximum, which is the safe way to make a quiet file louder. Matching loudness evens out files that sound louder or quieter than each other, like a set of podcast clips.

The soft limiter rounds off peaks when boosting so you don't get harsh digital distortion. Audio is processed on your own device and never uploaded.

Why use it?

  • dB-accurate control.
  • Peak and RMS meters.
  • Soft limiter.

The formula

Gain factor = 10^(dB ÷ 20)
+6 dB ≈ 2× amplitude · −6 dB ≈ ½
