How to use the Molarity Calculator
- Choose what to find.
- Type the solute's formula.
- Enter the other values and read the result.
What does this tool do?
Molarity is moles of solute per litre of solution. To make 1 L of 0.1 M sodium chloride you need 0.1 mol, which is 5.844 g of NaCl.
When preparing a solution, dissolve the solute in less solvent first, then top up to the final volume.
Why use it?
- Three modes for lab prep.
- Molar mass from the formula.
- g/L concentration too.
The formula
M = n ÷ V
mass = M × V × molar mass
