How to use the Interactive Periodic Table
- Click any element to see its details.
- Search by name, symbol or atomic number.
- Filter by category, such as halogens or transition metals.
What does this tool do?
The periodic table arranges the elements by atomic number, so elements in the same column (group) share similar chemical behaviour. Rows (periods) correspond to electron shells.
Atomic masses are IUPAC standard atomic weights. For radioactive elements without stable isotopes, the mass number of the longest-lived isotope is shown.
Why use it?
- All 118 elements.
- Colour-coded categories.
- Search and filter instantly.

Frequently asked questions
Why are the lanthanides and actinides below the table?
They belong in periods 6 and 7, but placing them inline would make the table very wide, so they're shown as two separate rows by convention.
